AMJ Dub Collective Sound History April 23rd

AMJ’s first 12″ vinyl, a limited edition, will be released on April 23rd in collaboration with Sugar Shack Records/Bristol Archive Records. A Tribute to Bristol Sound Systems back in the day, it features The General on MC duties and Rob Smith with a brace of dub mixes.

Golden Glow video released

We have released a video for the new EP Golden Glow which was released on the 31st Jan and features world famous harpist Catrin Finch, Michel Padron from Asere on trumpet as well as other Asere members…

The video shows the recording process of making the tune around the world in different studios.

‘AMJ is my first discovery of 2011 and I haven’t stopped playing the tracks since I downloaded them. The performances are superb and I especially like the harp, strings and guitars plus there are some great grooves. My favourites became Golden Space and Mountain Blue, these are beautiful pieces. So relaxing and thoughtful they just draw you into a cosy sonic space. I put them on repeat because it feels like waking up from a nice dream when they finish, one that you just want to go on and on. I like Golden Glow and Blue Mountain too. They have a solid, warm, hypnotic feel with the drums and bass providing the structures while horns, guitars, harp and voices weave in and out providing a lighter, melodic flavour. The arrangements take you by surprise and I really enjoyed the journey. Level Vibes is more like a reggae dub but has a jazzy feel with some lovely piano touches and Heartbeat is a bluesy, soulful number with fantastic trumpet and the horns feel almost African trance.’
